“Nearly all of China’s provinces are large enough in size and population to serve as countries in their own right. If taken individually 11 of them would be among the 25 most populous countries in the world. Specific prayer is warranted.” (Operation World)

China classifies their country into 55 official “nationalities”, but there are really over 500 ethno-linguistic groups.
