About

‘And the Rock was Christ’ is a blog I have used very intermittently for almost 10 years now. The title is a short sentence from the Bible, where the Apostle Paul refers to the activity of Christ in the days of the Old Testament. This same active Christ, has become a human being, named Jesus. He is Lord over all. This is central to God’s plan to redeem the creation. You need to know this, and to respond to him.

This blog includes all sorts of thoughts and articles, and a growing list of prayers, hopefully for every nation of the world. The gospel is public truth.

I am a South Australian, happily married. I preach regularly at Clare Uniting Church. I am a Chaplain to SAPOL (Police).

As a Person of faith, I am ever amazed that The Word became Flesh and Made his Dwelling among us.

My work is to testify to the fact, and truth of Jesus resurrection, the fruit of his sufferings, and his Spirit’s presence and activity. The Cosmos is thus, much more than many of our scientists are willing to concede. Creation—in Christ, has a glorious future. I hope you find some of my work beneficial!

I am a lay Christian minister recently arrived in South Australia with my family. I have three daughters. Together with my wife and daughters, I have been going to meet and minister to Aboriginal brothers and sisters in the parklands every Sunday for the past 6 to 8 months or so. We have shared the Gospel with many of them and we have a burden to minister to them. We are originally from Sri Lanka and came to Australia in November 2008.
I was looking through the Internet to find people or a church with similar burden to reach the indigenous people in South Australia.
That is when I came across this Adelaide Berean Church. Is there any possibility for us to come and participate in a church service at this church one Sunday.
We would be very happy to make contact.
We live in Reynella East and my phone number is 0421748367.

Thanks,

Mohan Fernandopulle

Thanks Mohan,
Yes you would be very welcome to join in the Sunday night services, at 6.30pm. Currently there are also some studies being given by Bryce Clark, on Wednesday nights, at 7.30pm, regarding the Aboriginal Missions History in Australia. You could meet a few people there, with a similar interest.
